I was in a cabin with Maya, Youyi, Breyana, Camille and Katelyn. (I think my cabin was the best and the cleanest, Not to brag or anything) My favourite thing about camp was Hanging rock because we were walking down  and we met some Japanese boys that were really funny!! I loved camp this year!!!  By Holly!!

Writing

In writing we have been writing stories for our buddies. It has been fun writing fun stories. My story is about a dog called bobble who eats a golden piece of food and lands in dog land. She starts to miss her owner Holly she goes out in search to find another golden piece of food. She sees another dog about to eat it and pounces and eats it ad lands back home with her owner Holly and lives happily ever after. I cant wait to show our buddies I hope they like them.

Bike Ed

Over Term 2 -3 we have been doing bike ed and been learning all new road skills and laws. We have been going on a road route in little groups with a parent helper. We have the bike test coming up soon and if you make it  you get to go on a ride to Hayes Paddock and you also get to go on the bike ride on camp. I can’t wait to find out if I make it!!

Good Luck to me!!

This year Me and Amelia dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2. We are from The Cat In The Hat. . At the parade we walked around and everyone looked at us!! It was fun dressing up as thing 1 and 2. To get our hair to stick up like this we used plastic bags and stuffed them in our hair it made our hair all poofy them we just sprayed our hair with blue hair spray. Later in the day our hair started to get really itch and we have to take our hair out. But we shouldn’t have because it made our hair really messy. It was a really fun thing to do and cant wait for next year!!!!

Steel wool and vinegar experiment

imageimage

Today we did the steel wool and vinegar experiment. You need steel wool, vinegar, thermometer, two beakers and a lid or a piece of paper. After the experiment the steel and wool smelt really BAD!!!!! The steel wool got rusted. Rusting is a chemical reaction between the iron inside the steel wool and the oxygen. This chemical reaction creates heat energy which gets hotter and the temperature inside the beaker gets hotter which makes it foggy. The highest temperature we reached was 22 degrees and our lowest was 19 degrees.  It was really fun!!

Blow it up!

Last week in the science room we did an experiment. The experiment was called blow it up. We had to get an empty bottle, some bi-carb soda, vinegar and a balloon. You filled a third of the bottle with vinegar. Then you got the balloon and filled a good amount of bi-carb soda into. Once you had done that you have to some how get the balloon on with out getting any bi-carb soda into the bottle. Once you did that then turn the balloon straight and let all the bi-carb soda fall into the bottle. There will will be a reaction the reaction happened because the vinegar started to fizz up with all bubbles it goes all the way up the bottle but it doesn’t have anywhere to go so it goes into the balloon witch makes it blow the balloon up! In conclusion we successfully blew up the balloon without our mouths! And we also enjoyed it a lot and hope to do an experiment again soon!!

The resilience project Hugh

Yesterday Hugh came to C.P.S to talk to the year 5’s about gratitude and his trip to India. He said some funny and sad story’s. He made me think about all   the things that I complain about but people in India are so grateful if they have nothing. I’d love to help out in India one day to help all the poor people and give them my old things and clothes that I don’t need  anymore.

I will think twice now before I complain about the little things.

L5B’s cooking feast!!!!

Yesterday  on the 25th of June all the year fives cooked their own lunches. You were in a group of 5-4 I was with Georgia, Emma, and Amelia. We cooked pizza and it was yum yum yum!! We had cooked 8 pizzas and at the end of the feast their was nothing left! All the other groups foods were delicious . The boys made smiley biscuits, another group pasta and last but not least there were nachos. We set the tables up in a banquet way. I think my group worked really well together and we had a step to do each. It was challenging to get the right amount of topping on the pizza or it would be tasteless. Hope you enjoy!!!
